Alexa's first Easter was very fun! I got her ready in the morning and because it was cold we put on a long sleeve shirt and pants under her pretty dress.
After I got her ready and fed and in the car, Alexa and I drove to my Aunt's house to spend Easter with my family. Matthew had to work so it wasn't the same without him, but we still enjoyed the day. It was fun day! Alexa got Easter presents and she went on an Easter egg hunt. She found 2 dollars! Later on she got hungry so Papa Jeff fed her some boo boo. While eating her dinner she experienced her first earthquake! She did very well considering it was a rolling one and not a shaking one. It kinda got me a little dizzy because it felt like I was on a ship.
After she was fed we came home so we could spend the rest of Easter with her daddy. :) We ate dinner and watched Sweet Home Alabama. After that movie we started to watch one of the Jurassic Park movies. I'm not sure which one it was, but I know it wasn't the first one. We watched it until the baby went down for the night because when you have a baby you need every little second of sleep you can possibly get. Especially when she hates her crib and usually only sleeps in mommy's and daddy's bed. :)

Alexa is 1 month old today! I can't believe it has already been 4 weeks since I had her. She is growing up so fast! She can already sleep through the whole night without waking up mommy and daddy. :) She can hold her own bottle.
Saturday, February 13th at 2:00 am I woke up to what I though was peeing haha. I hate to say that but that's what I though it was so I got up and went to the bathroom. While I was in there I noticed that it wasn't pee that I did because it had a red tinge to it. I thought that it could be that my water just broke but I was only 36 weeks and 5 days along so I wasn't positive. I had the doctor paged and when she called me back I told her what had happened and she said that I should go to the Emergency to make sure everything is ok. So I woke Matthew up and he was really surprised. We got our things together and arrived at the hospital at around 3:00 am. They checked me in and said that my water broke and that I was going to have the baby that day! Matthew and I were shocked! I wasn't even 37 weeks yet and I was about to have my daughter! I was supposed to go to work that day and the crib and dresser were suppose to arrive at my house that day as well. We didn't have anything ready for her to come home to because her baby shower was going to be the next Saturday. It was crazy! My baby was about to be born before her shower! Apparently I had contractions but couldn't feel them. The Nurse was very surprised how high my pain tolerance was. It wasn't until after I got the IV that I felt my contractions and even then I got the epidural right after so I still didn't feel them to the point that I was in huge amounts of pain. The epidural wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It felt like a pinch and before I knew it, it was done. I felt great after that! My legs were super numb. I was dilated 1 centimeter for a really long time. It wasn't until it was 1 or 2 in the afternoon that I was 2-3 dilated. Then and hour and a half later I jumped to 7 centimeters! At 5:30 I was the full 10 centimeters! Time to push! I wasn't scared or nervous but I was excited to finally see my baby! I pushed for an hour and she was born at 7:04 pm. She weighed 7 lbs and 12 oz and was 19 1/2 in. long. She was beautiful! She cried as soon as she came out and I cried too because I was so happy to have her here! Matthew got watery eyes he said and he saw the whole show and cut the umbilical cord and he did not even get grossed out by anything! I was proud of him. :) It was a day to remember! Holding her in my arms that day was the best reward and moment that I will always cherish!
I have 35 days left until my due date and I'm 35 weeks today! I can't believe our baby could be born sometime at the end of this month. It seemed like it would be forever until I get to this point. We want her to be here already but I wish I could just skip through the labor part. I'm very nervous as I have mentioned a million times to everyone but it's running through my mind everyday all day. I feel great. It's a little tough to sleep some night's due to my back being a little sore or I get really hot but I know it will soon be back to normal and the only thing keeping me up will be my little baby girl. Oh my gosh! I just experienced what heartburn feels like about 2 nights ago. I woke up with a hot pain in my chest around 1 in the morning and I went to get some cold water but it didn't make it feel better so then I was like maybe this is what heartburn is and sure enough it was. I took 2 tums and I felt great and went back to sleep. It was the pizza and soda I had for dinner. Lets just say I'm sticking to water and non spicy foods for the next month. Alexa is moving around like crazy. The resident's had a baby shower for me and I got a lot of stuff! I have lot's of baby clothes and toys ready for Alexa to wear and play with. I went to the blood doctor today to check my blood due to my low platelet count. If you don't know what that is, it's what makes your blood clot so you don't keep bleeding and if you have a low platelet count when you are pregnant then when you have the baby it could be severe. It is common to have the count drop during pregnancy. My platelet count was 112,000. The danger zone is 50,000 and lower. The best is between 150,000 and higher. So mine wasn't too low but because I'm pregnant my doctor wanted to keep an eye on it to make sure it didn't drop more. Anyways, so I went to the doctor today and they said that my test last week showed my count to be 123,000 so it's going up. It made Matthew and I really happy to hear that. They took another blood sample today to make sure it was still good but I'm sure it will be just fine. Have I told you how much I love my husband? I love him more than anything and I'm so grateful to have him in my life! Just when I didn't think we could be any closer because we are each others best friend, we get closer. I love it! I love that it's him I share my bed with and wake up to every morning! I love that he is the father of our child! And I love that he is all mine! I'm very lucky! I just felt like letting the person that reads this know what I'm thinking at the moment. Now I'm going to go and give him a hug! Goodnight!
